About Photo Anonymizator
Photo Anonymizator removes all non-essential metadata from photo files of a wide range of formats (JPG, PNG, HEIC, RAW, ...) that might for example be privacy relevant (like certain EXIF information, date/time information, GPS location information, camera make/model, etc.) without re-encoding the images themselves thus avoiding any change in image quality.
Many imaging tools using AI-supported editing plug-ins leave traces of such plugins tools in the processed image's metadata – and social platforms like Meta, Instagram, etc. use heuristics to mark images as AI-generated or -processed. Removing all non-essential metadata from an image file might therefore make it more difficult for such detection and classification to take place. Caveat: This entire topic of AI detection is a quickly moving target and watermarked images, i.e. images in which the detection is happening through the image data itself, will not benefit from just removing the metadata tags.
While many other tools simply remove metadata from JPEG or PNG files by loading image files and saving them back without metadata information, and those approaches modify the encoding of the picture itself, Photo Anonymizator removes or overwrites only metadata properties. It therefore preserves the exact photo and photo settings (e.g. profile information) that your camera or image processing software has originally stored in the image file.
